Steven Klein

La rédaction de Fashion Carrousel est encore en vacances jusqu'à la semaine prochaine (probablement quelque part aux Bahamas, en bikini lamé et sautoir en perles de culture sur une plage de sable blanc), mais moi je reviens (enfin, et pas des îles :( ) pour un carrousel sur Steven Klein. C'est un carrousel que j'ai beaucoup peiné à créer, parce que je n'aime pas particulièrement son esthétisme que je trouve gratuitement provocante et complètement misogyne. Il m'aura fallu donc plusieurs jours pour réussir à réunir des photos que j'aime et qui représente objectivement son travail. Au final je suis assez contente du résultat, qui permet d'ailleurs de ce rendre compte que M. Klein a une très faible cohérence artistique entre ses différents travaux. Ceci dit, enjoy, et à la semaine prochaine à la rédaction de Fashion Carrousel !

Fashion Carrousel are still on holidays (probably somewhere in the Bahamas, sun-tanning on a white sand beach in golden bikinis and pearl necklaces), but I am back (but not from any exotic island :( ) with a Steven Klein carrousel. It was quite difficult to create, as I am not a fan of his work. I find it both too provocative and very misogynistic, which explqins I needed several days to gather pictures I like that reflect his work in whole. I am pleased with the result, and I hope you will be too. Funny how it shows the lack of coherence between many of his photoshoots... anyway, enjoy the carrousel, and see you next week with your favorite stereotyped journalists!

Kirstian Schuller

Pendant trois ans, j'étais passée à côté du merveilleux photographe qu'est Kristian Schuller. Comment est-ce possible, alors qu'il réunit tous les éléments que j'aime dans les photos de mode ? Heureusement, l'erreur est réparée et le photographe a vite rejoint le top 5 de mes artistes favoris (et son livre ma liste de Noël). Je trouve à cette découverte tardive un peu petit côté rassurant, la preuve que malgré la banalité des éditoriaux de Kate Moss seins nus ou Natalia Vodianova en chaussettes, il existe encore plein d'artistes que je n'ai pas encore découverts. Je vous laisse profiter de ses photos sans crédit cette semaine, juste pour la beauté de la mise en scène et des robes.

For three years, I have been unaware of the fabulous photographer that is Kristian Schuller. How can it be, when he gathers all the elements I like in a fashion photographer? Anyway, the mistake is fixed and he has now reached my artists top 5 (and his book my Christmas wishlist). The late finding is kind of reassuring, proving that in spite of the banality of a bare-breasted Kate Moss or a socks-wearing Natalia Vodianova, there are still lots of artists out there that I don't know yet.
